Level 2 HIAB Driver

Translift Freight Limited, a member of the Plasmor Group of Companies, operate a modern, professional and highly efficient transport fleet of tippers, tankers and block delivery vehicles together with a fleet of rail wagons. An opportunity has arisen for a Level 2 HIAB Driver working out of our Knottingley site in West Yorkshire.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an Level 2 HIAB Driver based at our Knottingley site.

General responsibilities:

  • Starting between 4:00 am - 6:00 am Monday to Friday
  • To transport goods from out depot to construction sites and builders merchants
  • Working to deadlines and to manage on-road routes in order to achieve time-sensitive deliveries
  • Daily vehicles walk round checks and accurate defect reporting
  • Planning your route on a daily basis
  • Loading and securing loads using straps
  • Keeping the dispatch office up to date on delivery times
  • Comply with on-site health and safety requirements

Personal attributes required by the demands of the role are:

  • A Proven track record of driving vehicles in a safe and legal manner ensuring compliance with all legal requirements
  • A detailed understanding of driver’s hours and WTD legislation

Essential:

  • A valid LGV UK Driving Licence
  • HIAB Licence
  • A valid UK Driver CPC Card
  • A valid UK Digital Tachograph Card

The candidate

A degree of physical activity is intrinsic within this role, including manual handling of wooden pallets, manual tensioning of ratchet straps and occasional handling of precast concrete building blocks, negotiating vertical ladders/steps to access the cab/on-vehicle crane, where appropriate accessing the airlines/suzies for connection to trailers, accessing the body of tipper vehicles and working outside in prevailing seasonal weather conditions. There is also a requirement to wear items of personal protective equipment/clothing as necessary for tasks carried out.
