As the end of 2023 approaches, so too does long working associations of two loyal staff members. With that being said we'd like to take this opportunity to wish them both well in their retirement, and reflect on some kind words from their customers and colleagues alike.
Mrs Janice Reilly, Sales Office Supervisor – retires 21st December 2023.
Janice has been employed by Plasmor since 1981. When Plasmor took over the Widnes site from the previous owners, Janice was one of the original staff members.
Over those years, Janice has been part of the glue that sticks the sales and admin functions together and she has played an important role providing our clients with the best service and this is borne out by some of the comments from long standing customers.

Mr Andy Williams, Senior Buyer of Barratt Homes Manchester says: “Janice, Just a quick email to thank you for everything you have done for us here at Barratt Manchester. Without your continuous help, always going above and beyond, we wouldn’t have been able to build our houses with as few hiccups as we have. In the 19 Years I have been at Barratt Manchester not once has anything been too much trouble. I hope you have been training the new staff well as Plasmor will be losing a major cog in their team. All the best for your future.”
Mr Steve Tideswell, Direct Sales Manager of Tippers Builders Merchants, Lichfield says: “it’s been a pleasure to deal with Janice over my 30 years at Tippers, she’s been the 1st point of contact at Plasmor for all of our orders be it yard or site. She’s always been pleasant, cheerful and willing to help, in fact it’s been good, old fashioned customer service – be it an issue with a delivery, stock to transfer, bad news of any sort, we were told, received an apology and given the solution, she will be a great loss to Plasmor, will be greatly missed by all customers, and we wish her a long, happy, well earnt retirement”
Mr David Walsh, Branch Manager of Benchmark Building Supplies said: “I have dealt with Plasmor for 25 years and they are a great company to deal with . A major part of this has been the service we have received from Janice. Janice has always been pleasant , extremely efficient and willing to try and help us out whenever she can and always with a smile. I would like to wish Janice a long , healthy and happy retirement”.
Mr Ian Derbyshire of C & W Berry Builders Merchants said: “I was quite surprised last night on learning of Janice retiring from the Plasmor business. That said, on behalf of CWB and myself, I would like to add, dealing over the years with Jan has been a pleasure. Her friendly and straightforward approach coupled with quick response, is exactly what’s required in this industry. Jan will be missed, but after what I believe to be 42 years, justifiably so….please pass on our wishes for a long and healthy retirement."
Mr John Dempsey, Branch Manager of Travis Perkins, Aintree said: “Hi Janice WOW 40 years plus service AMAZING!"!!!!!!!!!, I would just like to take this opportunity to say it has been a pleasure dealing with you, and the laughs we have had along the way I will always remember everything you have done for me and the favours sorting deliveries out and your customer service is excellent, So enjoy your retirement look after yourself and make sure TOPPO gets the champagne in, I will miss our chats take care xxxxxxxx"
Martin Ward, Divisional Director of Plasmor Halton praised Janice’s exemplary loyal service: “Janice has been a credit to us, so dependable and has done such a good and professional job for us and our customers for all these years. She has formed a really trusting relationship with many, many customers who have come to rely on her for her absolute dependability. I am sure they and we, shall miss her. Enjoy a long and happy retirement Jan, you definitely deserve it!”
Mr Stephen Cox, Supervisory Team Leader – retired 8 December 2023.
Steve joined Plasmor as a Fitter in 1985. In the 35 years since, he has witnessed some major investment and changes including the construction of a paver plant, our Thermalbond plant, a Bush Hammer Plant and a new block plant.
After excelling as a fitter he was promoted to Team Leader in August 2005. There was further promotion when a review of roles occurred and a re-structuring of production staff took place in 2012 when he became Supervisory Team Leader.
We thank Steve for his long service and wish him and his wife and family the best of health and happiness for his retirement.
